The human body can only take standing in an upright position for so long before suspension trauma sets in. It can happen to anyone and everyone who stands a lot. Employers give demonstrations on this type of trauma at the workplace where many employees stand on their feet for eight or more hours. Here are some of the signs:
light-headedness
palpitations
tremulousness
poor concentration
fatigue
nausea
dizziness
headache
sweating
weakness
fainting during upright standing
This is caused from standing in the same position without moving your legs, which can cause less circulation. One example is that of a solider standing at his post and not moving. This can cause you to lose consciousness and fall. Then after you fall the blood returns to the body parts and you awaken. If this happens while in a harness, it could lead to death.
